Hey vvega, you said you were knowledgable in aluminium structure, any idea's on what may have caused this? I really want to know for future reference so it doesn't happen again, as you could understand.

ther are lots of reason that this sort of thing can happen stx7 has named one of them
chrystaline fracture is another (any major impact will cause the casting to change in structure and become very brittle.you get this when tring to straighen alloy wheels after they have been bent )

it can also be cause by a defect in the casting process..i.e incorect cooling methods or the alloy not been properly purdged before the pour

any nick or marking in the face is basically a weekpoint and givin time a fracture will always start from this point

would be good to see a few more piccys

To DRFTIN, the wheels I think are a copy of the victory's, the rating on the whell say's 690kg, but the wheels were bought for an XY falcon v8 and the lux should be lighter than that.

To vvega, cheers for that mate, the wheels have never had a big impact and have never been straightened and can't remember any nicks in it before this happened, I will try and get some more pics for you.
Hi Im Ben, Have a nice day :)
