Do they actually do 200?? Mine was indicating 200+ (way off the clock) when I hit my speed cut, but a mate with a radar gun clocked me at 173 (he was just passed the kink in the back straight).

My theory is that is cut at an acual 180 and the speedo just says
ZMOG!!!1!! you're going 200km/h !!!!!one!!!

like to see you ride one around a track faster the powerband on those 500's is like a light switch

..isssh, but its definately on the lower side. I think its closer to 180, possibly 190. Need a calender to time it from a standing start though

Not many speedo's show 200 and even then they're fairly inaccurate. My bike is around the 10-11 sec mark. The new GSXR1000 does it in ~7.7, the veyron in about 7.3.

actually i was very surprised at how respnsive the 20v was at that speed.
the ae92 struggled and took a while
20v zipped straight up to it.
they will do 200. no doubt about that.
however when the gauge is showing "200ish" then yeah its a fair bit out

Granted! Rider a big ingredient too, Laws of physics though when it comes down to it and the four stroke boys know it!

Thats why even 125 two strokes are forced to compete with 250 four strokes.

Its like comparing an egg beater with a BIG Block no contest!

V8 240z... on the way to 280km/h... truly terrifying - the thing does 60's round Puke. I would guess it'd get there in 11-12 seconds.

Fastest with me driving - 192km/h in the MR2 on Pukekohe (speed cut). I reckon it'd be good for 230-240 before it ran out of gearing.

Rhys.

Highest speed: My mates 95 NZ new wrx with long gears and no speed cut at 260km/hr (very very fast and scary)

And also had the levin (AE101) past 200km/hr on an air strip, unsure if it's totally accurate but its off the clock at bout 6,500 rpm in 4th and goes well into 5th without speed cutting so unsure if its been tampered with or not. :?:

Been about 230 in the SW, but thats what the speedo was reading, so I'd probably take around 20 of that for speedo error?

I've probably been faster in my mates GT351 race car down the back straight of Puke, but I wasn't really watching the speedo, I was enjoying the view too much!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I like the phrase "zipped" straight up to it. I guess if doing it in a bit under a minute is "zippy" :) I'm sortof hoping after mine is tuned it'll be capable of "zipping" straight up to it, though even then it'll still not do it within the confines of a 1/4 mile run 8O

Above 500. Less than some of the Evo's / WRX's it races against, and certainly less than a certain 7L Monaro...

what i meant was it wasnt a struggle like the ae92 was.
constant strong acceleration, unlike the ae92 where i had the throttle foot flat for some time to get there.
