Postby Dell'Orto » Sun Dec 10, 2006 9:20 pm

Cant believe no-one has made mention of this yet, but the C&M/Venom Supra ran a 7.8 today at Meremere. Havent heard what trapspeed yet, but I am willing to bet it'd be right up there :D

I dont think HT will have to worry about it, this car never went faster than 7.5 iirc in the states. Still damn fast however!

The Venom Supra..Yes well I think you'll find that this car was already done this time in the U.S about 3-4 years ago but again on our tracks this is very good. But I think the owner is looking for a 7.5 and under... 8)

I knew this car would be quick this season, I have high expectations for this car in the near future.

It was pretty hot yesterday as well, so maybe they can drop off a few more tenths with perfect conditions....

Willie White also ran a 5.58 in his Nitro car.... definitly something to check out.

Umm, OK.

Heat Treatments PB = 7.57
Rayglass PB = 7.8
Venom PB = 7.8

Until its actually faster, the odds are its not faster... anyone that contests that probably should stick to arguing more subjective things, like debating if the world is flat or something.

Aside from silly comments like that - good news to hear, loving hearing the 7s club get more populated. I'd like to hear an angry 2JZ going full noise - I look forward to going to a drag meet with multiple >1000hp I6 motors of various sorts screaming and frying tires.

go to www.mkiv.co.nz
Theres a link there with all the details on the car.
Hopefully it will be at the nationals going for the records, it would be pretty awesome seeing it face off against all the other top pro imports :-)

Not to mention having the HKS car lurking around, with rumored new character behind the wheel (!!!). Gonna be fun!

BTW, the Venom Supra's run this weekend was 7.82 @ 165mph according to my sources - puts it just behind Heat Treatments PB on Meremere of 7.81 @ 177mph...

Yeah I agree end all the arguing get them head to head and settle it straight up race.....

The only thing I give the Venom Supra owners credit is that they have only had the car for a year and only had a handful of runs and there already at 7.82 so I think potentially they can definitely get a low to mid 7.

may just be rumour but I have heard reece mcgregor wont be at the nats - because he is getting married that weekend

remember, they may not have had much track time in that car, but it was "pre engineered" so to speak - which can make things a lot easier.
