Avaialble DOT Drag Tyres

Postby gtpornstar » Mon Dec 18, 2006 10:15 am

Anyone been looking into some sticky tyres for drag like the ET Streets or DOT street Hoosiers ?
Just wondering what options there are for around the 22-24" height.
Nothing much other than BF Goodridge from what I can see.
Is there nothing else other than regular semi slicks ?

Yeah my mate uses some Hoosier DOT rated drag slicks on his 12 sec N/A CRX. Because they're DOT rated you can run them in the street classes.

He got them from Calwells Race Supplies in Albany.

Can't remember how much they were, but they're definitely not cheap cheap.

I'll get the size of them and the cost if you want.

Ok, sorry for taking so long, but we're all on Christmas holidays here.

I got hold of my mate Deanis and he said the Hoosiers he is using are 225/50R15. He managed to sqeeze them onto something crazy like a 6inch wide rim, or was it 6 1/2??? I'll ask and confirm this.
He got them from Caldwell Racing in Albany. He said price will vary with exchange rate, but said can be between $700 and $900 for two.

Sweet man. They are damn good tyres, you wont be disappointed. I'm pretty sure Barry is using some of these on his beast now too.

My mate has them on his Advanti Racing CPO35s, which are only 6 1/2 inch wide, but they do say on the tyres they are for 7-9inch wide rims. Not really recommended to squeeze them on like that, but that's all he had.
