Suitable engine for Starlet

whats a suitable engine for my 1989 Starlet? gotta 1300 Injected 2E in it at the moment but id prefer something tough and Twin Cam that isnt too much hassle to put into this

i can sell you a just rebilt 4AGE blue top its got 50k on it & is still getting run in

4age in a starlet isnt straight forward. wont fit bettween chassis rails

no

AE90...

EE90...

(A = A series (4a 3a 7a etc).)
(E = E Series (4e 2e 5e etc).)

so a 4age will fit in an AE90 with a 4afe in it...

and a 4efte will fit into an EE90 with a 2e in it...

4age = alot more work than you think.

iv had a 4AGE in a EE90 i know whats involved but iv got all the mounts here all ready witch maket it alot easyer if there the same

a late model 5efe with a $500 nos kit would make it fly. 1500cc twin cam injected. wet nos kit supplys 50hp when attacking hills, etc :twisted:

A series engine should fit into an EE90 easy enough, it is the same chassis shape as an AE9x after all. However a Starlet isn't an EE90


Easiest option as far as bolting something in and going quite well would be the likes of the 4E-FTE mentioned up at the top. Though in any conversion you'll be having to swap over ECUs and looms etc. For the hassle you may as well just buy an EP82. Dont go too bad for a 1300 really
