I'm making a parts washer out of various odds and ends, and am contemplating using injectors as the sprays.
I'm wondering what the best way to operate them would be, as they wouldnt like running continuously. It'd be ideal if I could run them so each bank fires alternately.

Hey, I've got four sets of quad throttle body 4AGE manifolds with fuel rail/injectors/etc (They dont have the throttles or throttle linkages etc) Which could come in handy for such an idea...

PM me if you're interested. :)

Cant help with your actual question though. :P

would injectors have the right kind of spray?

are you making something you stick the parts in, turn on and it pressure washes parts?

iv used one that pumped the fluid through the middle of the scrub brush. that worked quite well.

I'm not too sure, but they're cheap enough to not worry so much.

I wouldnt mind something that can just be left to its own devices, but something along the lines of a brush would be cool also.

You'll have to have something that will pulse the injectors. Supplying 12v to them for any length of time will simply fuse them open. There is a cheap additional injector driver from JayCar.
The'll also have a tendency to clog with the slightest bit of crap, or buildup in your recycling cleanser.
I also think the spray will be too fine to be of any use, saying that I've never attempted to use an injector to clean anything before.

Yeah I'm unsure as to whether they'll work or not...but surely there must be a bit of pressure coming from them when they open.
System will have a few filters in it, dont want gunk going through the fuel pump either ;)

Personally I think you would be wasting your time with injectors.
Firstly just supplying power to them will just stuff them. They need a PWM signal. Any simple motor controller from DSE, jaycar etc should be abel to accomplish wat you want.

The other thing is that the liquid you spraying with realistically has to be under pressure to be of any good. Injectors are gonna be useless for this cos the spray pattern is too fine.

Obviously depends what you trying to do, but personally i reckon you wasting ya time. There are other better and easier ways of washing parts.

Appears its been removed. You may want to check Silicon Chip back issues as it's almost certainly there.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

No way, petrol is too expensive to waste on cleaning parts  parts cleaning solvent is ~$40 for 20l and can be reused over and again.

Hmm, maybe the injector way might be a bit too complicated then. Will just stick to metal nozzles instead
