"Website attacks city police"

Postby slighty_looney » Sat Jan 06, 2007 10:00 pm

"Website attacks city police" was on the top of the front page of todays manawatu standard, its a story basically about a website on the net thats palmerston based that has forums talking bout police ect and bagging them for what they are doing in town, also they have a thing up on the site asking for a certain policemans address and or number because of they what he done to this certian group of people,

I wondered who else has heard about this round palmerston, i saw a few guys all wearing the same black shirt with a logo on it but cant remember what they were called, does any1 actually know what website this is? i tryed to google it but came up with nothing... they dont state what website it is nor what the club is called, just wondering if anyone had any info :D

Boy racer website attacks city police

Police are investigating the legality of a Palmerston North boy racer website, amid boy racer claims of police brutality.

"We are currently looking at the content of the website in terms of whether the authors of the website are inciting unlawful (street racing) acts," Palmerston North police area commander Inspector Pat Handcock said.

"We are in the process of seeking a legal opinion in respect of that."

The website yesterday featured, among other things, photos of cars doing burnouts, derogatory remarks about police and information on police scanners.

The front page of the website also asks for the personal details of a police officer who was allegedly violent toward them, a boy racer told the Manawatu Standard yesterday.

Mr Handcock said police had concerns the boy racers are seeking personal details of one of their police staff through the website, but would not comment on the violence allegation.

"If they have got a complaint to make they can get in contact with me."

The website said: "A reward goes to the first person that gets us (officer's name) personal details.

"This is due to his 'cool guy' tactics last night. text it to (phone number)."

A boy racer, who declined to be named, said they wanted the policeman's details because he was "getting a bit violent" toward them.

"We want to get in touch with him.

"We would like to know why he was doing those sorts of things and what he is going to do about it."

The website was there for entertainment.

If the police pulled it down they had a back-up plan that would see the site up again within an hour, he said.

"We don't incite anything through the website.

"It's just there for a laugh and it's there to make our opinion known."

Boy racers would do their thing whether the site was up or not, he added.

Anywhere between 50 and 200 people met every weekend for street racing in "lots" of locations around the Manawatu. The public was not put at risk. [/quote]

Its exactly this sort of crap that makes the cops target anything with slightly non standard kit on it... the only thing the cops can do in this case is make an example out of them... anything less will invite more idiots to do the same...

mind you the cops do have a habit on going easy on criminals

Stupid kids giving us honest toyspeeders a bad rep!

I think it serves as a timely reminder that alougth TS is really good, you do have to be carefull what you post up, the smallest things like pictures of burnouts on a public road could bring the club into disrepute.

Not that we do that anyway

But definatly a bullet in the head... Theres free speech and then theres just being a self rightous f-wit.

BTW if anyone does want to complain about the police it is a very easy process as i found out recently.

It is as easy as going to the police station front desk and laying a complaint.
IF this does not get actioned THEN go to the police complaints authority www.PCA.gov.nz

(the cops dont appreciate you going to the PCA if the problem can be resolved in house, and lets face it the do a C*nt of a job at times so they deserve a break)

I very nearly posted on their guest book to try to explain to them that you cant take on the cops... then i looked at the "about us" section and realised what sort of people they are...

for the record i think the cops do a bang up job... but having said that i have never had any negative experiences with them (they let me off 3 major speeding fines before they started ticketing me) so i may have rose colored googles on :D

Urrr looks like i did.

Whats the bet that guy has all the videos and photos stored on his PC undedited, (ie with plates visable) something a police search would be happy to find.

Unfortunatly, whilst they are searching for things about X crime, and they find things about Y crime on your PC, they cant do SFA about it.
