yeah it has been done before and works. how well is another thing but i'm sure adam and si will suss it out. adam has done some rersearch on this kind of setup and is pretty confident it will be ok. I'm more worried about the driveline holding up to adams abuse! will definetly be a damn quick street car!

Awesome work - keep the pics rollin in :)

(i assume the brake reservoirs will have some heat shielding - cos i can see melted plastic happening the second that turbo gets warm)

Awesome work man!!! Where did you source the cross member to fit the engine? Is it the same from a GITA Station Wagon?

Altezza or should I say Lexus came out with a N/A 2JZ anyway so that Xmember should do the trick...

Not sure if this one is the same model though...

if the 30 can take the way Adam drives (and its nowhere close to sane) this should be ok for a while, hopefully. it's got to handle better anyway, it wouldn't be possible for it to handle worse :D

i had a good look at this a few weeks ago, looks way better when you're checking out the manifolds in person. top notch work.

cheers

I didn't pick up on the wastegate on the pressure side of the inlet setup to control boost - really doesn't sound like a good idea to me, wouldn't it be creating what is normally considered a problem? Ie, an air leak while under boost?

If the thing ever reaches enough pressure that the "wastegate" needs to be opened, then the turbos are still going to behave like they are freeboosting - but the air isn't going to go into the engine. The turbo bearings are still going to take the full brunt of potentially excessive RPM and the air will still get heated quite nicely. Airleaks are a big turbo killer....

if the turbos are appropiately sized, the engine would run out of rpm before the intake wastegate should open. when you think of twin t70s on a stock 3L the spool shud be slow enough to prevent excessive pressures before redline. and if the wastegate does open and vent intake pressure, it will only be for a short time anyway. its bad to overspin a turbo, but id say in this application, if the intake wastegate ever opened, you'd be churning thru the rev range so quick, u wouldnt have a chance to overspin the turbo, and if so, it wouldnt be for long.

i suppose the upshot is you'd have the absolute best possible turbo spoolup .

:D :D :D :D

not really to worried, as ive previously said diesels free boost, and some run 'pop off valves' on the intake to limit boost

a lot of thought and research has gone into this, and there are other cars through out the world with similiar setup.

as for the crossmemeber its a factory 3sge beams unit with a fair bit of modification as with the sump has also been chopped and changed that a fair bit as well

700 is safe as houses

who really knows what the breaking point of a well tuned stock 2JZ bottom end is. there is a guy on the supra forums with 730RWHP from a 2JZGE with a 2.5mm head gasket and just bolt ons

how long after the 1000hp dyno runs do they swap it for another stock bottom end?

Awesome, thats a decent step up from the 30. There's a 2JZ altezza racecar down here in CHCH, looks and sounds the business! It's for sale at the mo.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 732298.htm

Haha yeah. Those claims from the same country that claim that most VTEC motors can be pushed to over 600whp on standard internals and that the most of the sub 10s drag Skylines in Oz and NZ have basic boltons.
