Project celica

Postby sleeektoy » Sun Jan 07, 2007 7:53 am

Ive had one of my celica's off the road for two and a half years - bringing it back to original.

Just thought i'd share some pics of progress.

And the car - contrary to how it looks in this pic -it is in need of a repaint (when i can afford it)
> just fitted the original rims too

he fails to mention that its not your average celica liftback, its a TA27GT and about as rare as it possibly can get without being supercar. i saw this a few months back and Mike's attention to detail is awesome, everything has to be perfect and it looks amazing because of it.

it also was good enough to appear in Classic Car magazine BEFORE he took it off the road for the rebuild.

nice work Mike

cheers
Matt

Thats awesome, as much as i like old school sedans on big rims, theres something about old cars that are restored to original or lightly moded as per their era. I still dont think it has to be completly factory to be awesome but stll an awesome effort on this car

Awesome, love the TA series Celicas. Restored as tidy as that will fetch $$$ in the near future :)

Can i come over and look one day ??

Im local , and a dead set fan of classics

I would have got an oldschooler as well as my St205 , but trying to find even a runner over here has been a bloody nightmare !

The guys in oz would love to see a few photos of these rare ones , Seeing we mainly got ta22 LT's a handful of GT's and one Ra25 GT which is owned by a good friend of mine

Sure - im still finishing a few things, did just over 100km yesterday in starting to run the engine in, but i'll be a few weeks before it's completely together, maybe after then :D

BTW - i know of river's car in aussie, went to see it last time i was over there - very nice. I hope to have mine as good as his one day

I'd complain about you hogging all the Old School Celica's...but at least you're doing them justice
