flushing oil from heater?

hey guys, just wondering if you have any good ideas for flushing all the oil and gunk thats built up in my heater from blown head, I have a mate doing my radiator for me, he works for a radiator company so hes gonna flush that out and take the end tank off and check it all but i'm just worried about oil being in the heater/ heater pipes seeing I'm putting a new engine in it it'd be a $&#$% disaster if it didn't get cleared properly lol

car is 4age ae92, putting a 20v blacktop into it. my mate also said he can use a compressor and some power flush or something like that? how does this work?

You need to loosen the oil etc from the internal sides of the heater so spray something like engine degreaser into it and then rinse it out with water, and/or fill with kerosene leave over night, shake it about etc.. then rince out with water.

Yeh it is a bit of a pain to remove, I would say for best results take it out but, you can still do what I mention above except for shaking it. (you could shake your car tho )

disconect it & put an end cap/bung on the lower end 1/2 full with shellite cap other end & go for a drive & have fun

The long and annoying method (unless you've got an electric water pump, like me!).
Fill the whole cooling system with clean water and a radiator cleaner. Turn heater on. Run the car for the recommended time. Drain, refill with water run it again. Lather rinse repeat...
I did about four complete fills just to be sure. I even pulled to block plug out.

It's not 100%, it's not easy. But there doesn't seem to be any significant traces of oil/slug in my system.
This is much easier with an electric pump as you don't have to run the engine on the successive flushes...
So if you're to lazy to use any other method... This one works... mostly...

put some cleaner through the heater and flush it out several times repeatedly. removing the heater core is by far the most effective way to do the job properly and do it once.
It's not like you'll be able to take the car for a drive or run the engine when there isn't one in the engine bay

lol yeah maybe i didn't mention there is no engine in the bay at the moment

new engine arrived today actually...

might end up taking heater out for peace of mind, just worrys me it'll get through my new engine and bugger it
