Looks like this is becoming a more common occurance.. atleast in the north island.

Good to see that they are finally taking a hard stance on people that have huge money owing in fines etc.

hmm just gota drag my fines out for another year... so i dont loose licence for 140 demerits >_< cop did me for speeding not the motorbike that was beside my car overtaking me......... sucks when cops dont like u

That doesnt work. many people have tried but it all catches up on you... might pay to pay your fines and have it over and done with now.

meh F.D.P, I am very anti police after the bullshit that one cop and his partner have caused for me. infact if this cop ever pulled me over id kick my door open into his legs

If you have a complaint against a particular policeman, then you can make a complaint at your local station. Just make sure you have your facts straight.

Most cops are pretty good and are just doing their job but with every group there is always the bad apple.

Do what strap on said, theres the reason there is a police complaints system.

And no, drawing them out for 50years won't help. If you got the ticket and were convicted of it at a time when it would have put you over the 100 points, then it will be backdated and you WILL lose it. Even if all of your points dropped off 20 years ago.

And back on topic, yeah its great to see them doing something about the $&#$% that don't pay their fines. Could even go to the extreme that some european countries do, and crush your car

That might wake up a few of our slower new zealanders.

Yeah i know it is. Just an example of how its abit easy to get away from things like that here.

And accutly,

I believe its only for racing on the street that you can get it crushed, not fines as such.

They were fairly rampant, I was pulled twice for no apparent reason, the car was clean, tidy, completely legal, didn't look low or anything.

However, I did see them pull a few complete heaps over, which was nice.

god people are stupid... drink driving and not wearing your seatbelt are some of the most obvious things to avoid... the laws are there to look after you... since when is being alive uncool?

They end up crushing the cars themselves most of the time, unfortunately against trees or other cars with innocent people being killed :evil:

So lets say they sell that Ferrari for $200,000. Does that mean that they will give the previous owner $197,000 from the sale and keep $3000 for the fines?
