Hey Guys,
Looking to buy some splits, and 4" Are very difficult to come by. I know that 4" definately fit in the front stock dash mounts for speakers, but I was wondering if anyone has sucessfully fitted 5 1/4" Speakers.
Just that 5 1/4" Speakers have a much greater range, and are significantly better quality (sounding) that the 4" Speakers. I want to try an avoid mounting 6" on my door, as I want my car to remain stock looking...
So will 5 1/4" fit? Will I have to knock up a new mount or baffle plate?
Or will I have to stick with 4"??
Cheers All!

Like Gate said, a decent pair of 4's mounted properly will blow away a pair of 5's that have been 'bodged' in there.
Maybe look at the DLS 424's which are a large 4" 2 way but with an outboard crossover like a component set. These go hard for a small speaker.
These sell for $299.

Well I'm sure he wants it to actually sound good, which is exactly what the DLS speakers will do (especially compared to a set of Xplods or similar). You don't go and buy the cheapest tyres thinking they will be just as good as tyres that cost twice as much do you?
Also, if you want expensive, go price up a set of Rainbow Reference series components. Set you back $18000 or something like that
