Stopping a car from being moved

Postby ollieboy » Mon Feb 19, 2007 1:04 pm

I have an old wreck of a car in the backyard that I don't want towed away but someone is coming to tow it away. I won't be here when they come so I want to make sure the car stays exactly where it is. Any ideas on what I can do to the car to stop it being moved? Don't mind if I render the car permanently useless so all your ideas would be appreciated

get some steel rims and weld bits of flat bar to them, basically making them square, then refit with lock nuts :D

Or simply take off rims and put on blocks...and then put lock nuts on the threads...

could remove the hubs, even just 2 on diagonally opposite corners should make it pretty damn hard to move.

also, if you don't mind me asking, if it's in your backyard why is someone towing it without your consent?

It's a long story but it involves weird country folk who want what they can't get and by any means.

Get some premixed concrete, get some heavy steel angle (4m), dig 4 holes under the cars hubs, drill 2 holes in the steel 1m length angles (depends on your stud pattern but if it is 4x100 drill 2 holes 100mm apart at the one side of the angle so it will bolt on to the hub. bolt on (weld on the hub would be better idea) the steel angles so they act as the 4 stands half in the ground (car will have to be jacked to certain height or it canbe left to sit on it's belly - not good in rust terms). poor concrete in the holes so when it sets the angles would become a part of concrete.

Dip the car in Cyanide then park it so that all 4 wheels is sitting on a mine each. That way when they try to move it...

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!

I like the idea of welding it to many other cars, that'd be worth at least a couple of laughs.
