So, 15 months ago I found the oil level was a little low on the dipstick in the Corolla (actually it was off the bottom of the dipstick, but don't tell anyone that ) so I filled it back up, ignored the slight noise that the motor was making and went out racing again. And again. And again for an entire year.
And then today, after having it make those strange noises for well over a year the motor had the temerity to decide to run its bearings mid-way through an absolute flyer of a run on an awesome Hillclimb road. So much for Toyota reliability, I'm sure a Honda would have done 16 months in the same condition
Ah well, I knew there was a reason I bought a spare motor for the car - I guess that's one less thing I'll need to shift when I move house next month! And time to order a couple of bits from Mr Revhead as well...
