Stupra and others, yes, we are staying at the usual place (All seasons holiday park)

As for people to race, no, doesnt have to be toyspeed or any other club member, just have to meet the minimun criteria of Wof (for a road car) etc

Numbers for racing are good now, so not stressing, but stillspace for more if there are others that want to come.

YAY!
I made a whole day with the car still running just fine!!!

Cheers for an awesome day.

Chelles/ken, you were taking some footage of a session I was in, I was hoping to get that to try and see what sort of times I was getting.

Cheers for another fun and well run track day :-)
The supra was not as good as i was hoping for sadly.
My last one suited the old track quite well but i struggled yesterday in this car.
Lots of HP on tap but the auto made life hard. I sort of sat around 5-7000rpm in second gear around all the corners and most of the track except the back straight as going into 3rd created too much initial lag and no low down power for exit speed.

I also had a weird body roll feel on intial turn in and a shaky rear end which made me a bit nervous and made it a real hassle on most of the corners. More so in the dry it seems and i never got a good entrance onto the back straight sadly. I was hoping to get a really good top speed but only really managed about 220. I could have scraped more out of it i suppose but i think ill sort out its handling a bit better or buy a manual one and see you at the next track day :-)

Anyone record any lap times? who was quickest on the day?

Stu, I keep telling you man, we need to sort you out with a manual box!!!

Does your suspension creak going over speed bumps at all? Sounds like your sway bar bushes may need relacing. Or the links to the struts.
Or you just need a thicker sway bar ;)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Hey thats interesting the last time we did a toyspeed day 1.55 was my quickest on the big track and 1.53 was the quickest of the day and I also did that in a Auto there are a couple of corners where the Auto struggles but overall its not to bad.All the talked about top speeds down the straight were not as big as expected. My quickest was 215 kph which was recorded off my blitz power I-D meter which is hooked up to my speed sensor.

The reason for the slow entry onto the back straight is the whole corner is off camber like you turn in and then its like your going to fall off the track at the exit, well thats what it felt like to me..A decent track wheel alignment and tyres will sought out some of your handling issues.

So you are running the factory auto with a T-72??????

big thanks from me also to all those involved in organising and to everyone doing the marshalling.
Had a wicked day, and was good to get the car on the track for the first time to see how it would go. It was cool to get both wet and dry conditions, and I must say what an awesome track it is at Taupo now.

Sorry to arrive a bit late Chelles, your email with all the info about the day went into my junk email folder

I took some pictures also, will post some up soon. If anyone wants pictures of their car? I will see if I have any.

Running Auto with T-72 is not a good match at all.
I really struggled for low down power so could really only leave it a certain rev range in 2nd for most of the track and it took too long to get up to speed on the back straight. Other cars were pulling away and i had to really chase them down to get in front. Was annoying.

My old TT auto supra was excellent. Not as much overall power but so much more useable. Theres a red 6 speed TT with the big breaks for sale at a good price on trade me at the moment, man i wish i could swap :)
