more problems/ clutch

Postby bluemaumau » Thu Mar 08, 2007 11:14 am

well as soon as i get my idle fixed i get struck down with another problem

i satrted the car. clutch in. reverse selected. realesed clutch. with no throttle it starts picking up revs. clutch in. neutral selcted. goes to 3000rpm. turn car off.

wtf

the clutch is 350kms old, as is the pressure plate. the flywheel is machined. torqued together at app torque. bleed clutch system

so can anybody diagnose the problem, cause i sure as hell dont want to remove my gearbox again.

can a bung master/slave cyclinder be the culprit?

thanks in advance

Check for free play in clutch pedal. Also check if you can push in the clutch slave cylinder with fingers (by pushin cylinder end of the fork).

Let me get this right. The idle picked up when you let the clutch out in reverse? With out touching the throtle at all? Did the car move at all with the clutch out while in gear? Also were you playing with the brake pedal at all?
The brake pedal could effect you idle but not the clutch peddal. (unless toyota has developed some kind of vacume assisted clutch that I highly dout.)

Im just trying to get a full picture. At this point im thinking you havnt solved you Idle problem.....

yup your right. it seems as soon as it moved its gone back to the idle problems

before i moved car:

no error codes
warmish steady idle @950/1000rpm

after

error code 51
steady idle @ 2500rpm

random huh
