Get the $6.5k one checked out by a local toyspeeder (offer them $100 for their time) then get it shipped up, worst case scenario for shipping would be $1200ish 47ks vs 180ks and 2kish cheaper....

Wouldn't the one for 6500 you're talking about be the same one on tardeme with 47,000kms? In which case it's an auto.

its still $4500 cheeper than the orrignal price & it wont cost that to change it over

That all depends on whether he is able to do the work himself and what combination of gearbox/flywheel/clutch he'll be using. :wink:

Ok, current status: I dont want to buy it, the guy just txt'd me and said that the 'FCD' is playing up and messing with the MAP sensor wich was causing the smoke.

does that sound right?

No... Sounds wrong.

Its not a diesel car... fuel has to be REALLY wrong to cause smoke.

Oil is the cause in petrol cars.

^^ at idle at least.

And FCD is a fuel cut defender, lets you run way to much boost.... (ie, removes the boost cut).

FCD can cause fueling problems ie. massive over fueling if not wired in properly. When I first wired mine in I forgot to connect the RPM Signal wire and the car was over fueling that bad that I had smoke coming out of engine bay and car wouldn't idle.

Connected wire and all was fine again...

nah, i think ill stick with the slow and economical curren for the time being, as i dont have the knowhow to do a conversion and dont want to spend that sort of money, im only 18 and dont want to get into debt yet
