Gen2 (ST185 or early SW20);
Best way to tell this by looking on other side of the block if your water/oil cooler is square (ST165) or round (ST185).

i'll say its a Gen 1 or 2 engine.
its not a Gen 3, they dont have TVIS ( you can clearly see the actuator)

but as Sergei has said get a picture of the other side of the block & well can easily tell.

what are you trying to fit it to?

if its a FWD configuration, you bolt the 3 of the 4 mounts to the gearbox, the only engine mounting is just below the head on the intake side of the block, 3 bolts in a triangular configuration

AHA - 3sgte going into a RWD setup? Am I right?
I think that the 3sgte blocks dont have all the bosses cast into the other side of the block - so you can't easily bolt rwd mounts to it?
Will the mount bolt to 2 holes and the other 2 are missing? Maybe make up a plate that will bolt to other holes on the block and weld the plate to the mount to support the block more securely.

Also - gen4 3sge (caldina, MR2, late ST20x) setup for east west don't have these bosses either from the ones I have seen. Altezza (north, south does).

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
