oil pressure sender

Postby vvtirep » Sat Mar 31, 2007 3:50 pm

hey guy wonder if you can help me.
i have a 1995 levin bzg and have an oil pressure guage and the oil pressure sender does not fit straight into the block. i have therfor had to put two spacers in so it can fit. the only problem is that this vibabrates and the thread in the block snaps because brass is a very soft metal. this is the 2nd time it has happened and so i lose all my oil.
has anyone else had this problem and how did you go about it?
im thnkn of just ditchn the oil presure guage and block up the sump in the pump because it just cost me money everytime it breaks off.

any suggestions would be great. thanks

get a non-brass thread, or, make a support mount up for sender so vibration aint an issue perhaps(depending whats around for it to bolt to)

yea, simply make a bracket with a clamp that holds sender in its place, therefore it can rattle and shake all it wants to :)

get a piece of flexible braided line and run it from the block to the sender and mount the sender on the inner guard.
