3T twin cam?

ok i just brought a 1980 corona wagon (tt134) or somethin along those lines it has a 3t engine and a t40 box.
i didnt think 3t engines came in single cam variety.
anyway its got some sort of electrical problem and wont start, the guy i got it from seems to think its got a problem with the dizzy so he supplied a spare dizzy and spare alternator.
does anyone have any comment on what problems the 3t motor commonly suffer from.

lack of respect!!

the motor is so basic, that there can only be a few things that stop it from running.

do you have fuel squirting down the carb throat? if not check fuel cut solenoid, then follow your way back toward tank for delivery issues

no spark? check dizzy timing and points gap, ballast resistor (if fitted), earth (one on head, another on block) leads etc.
still no go, then check fuses and relays.
