Sounds like Gremlins... Or just bad luck...

My gut guess is that alternator and ECU are unrelated, and just coincidence.

what voltage is your aulnator putting out

iv seen one give 15.8v & fry the injector drivers in a ECU
The faster you go the quicker you get there

i find it unlikely that 15.8v would fry injector outputs.
most alternators put out ~14.4v as thay have to to charge the battery.

so lets say we have an injector with impedance 12ohms @ 100% duty cycle at 12 v the current is 1amp then at 14.4v the current would be 1.2 amps and then at 15.8 the current would be 1.31 amps

110mA difference is unlikely to fry an output transistor. with low impedance injectors this would be a bigger difference but still not significant.

my link has a default battery cut voltage @ 18v

i know what your saying but on a trip that we bit extra heat builds up to become alot

just for note the aultnator shat it self & a 2nd hand 1 was put in witch was later found to be faulty giveing 15.8 volts under no load & increaseing under heavy load the car went arround town for about 2 weeks then on a trip to invercargil on the way back it give a puff of smoke out of the ECU in east tiari (i know thats spelt rong) & that was the end of that #`s 2 & 3 (from memory) drivers were gone
