What do you WANT toyspeed to be?

Postby Adydas » Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:40 pm

curiousty sparked from the other Poll thats open, do you want toyspeed to be more than just a forum, do you want to meet up for fun as well as make connections with people that can physically help you do mods etc?

I know i wouldnt be where i am with my gt4 if not for the help and support of people i met and befreinded in the earlyer years of Toyspeeds been a cluib.

Mroizos fun engine transplant from the chaser, would that have happend if he never met everyone else.

My Starlet & gt4s mentalness, i doubt that would have gotten more than just a cam belt replacment if not for the prodding from Vvega to do it.

All the above wouldnt be a reality if i never met those people and im sure if you think hard about it you can think of simlar egs.

back to what it used to be. a bunch of good people willing to help out others, meet up for cruises, BBQ, get drunk together, play pranks on welly kids who have travelled all the way to auckland and havent had any sleep and dont need it and then coma on the couch infront of everyone...........

nothing at all. The reason the toyspeed GK's were so enjoyable was because everyone knew each other. but because i havent been to a club run event i wouldnt know what im missing :P maybe when the bluebird has had its suspension work done ill make a few appearances. id be too scared it would flip right now lol either that or id get sea sick :?

Being in Gisborne kinda rules out local events, I only know of two other members, neither of which are really active any more.

And due to my financial status (Broke ass with a money pit of a car) I can't really justify the expense of heading out of town unless it's for a decent meet (or at least a track day where Hanré is running to once and forever show him that he bought the wrong Soarer  )

But once I get back to a real city, count me in for anything (especially if an Irish bar is involved)

I've met alot of cool people through toyspeed, gone to events, a couple of weekly meets and even now after 5 yrs (i think...) its still got info I need for my projects.

On that note I've had a helping hand with getting the odd thing done on a project from members here which I would never have met if it wasn't for the forum.

So for me its an unofficial club with an online forum, people from toyspeed have branched out to other clubs and almost always will know someone at an official event like track days etc.

..my 10c
