Sound deadner

Postby Zak » Sat Apr 21, 2007 10:16 pm

Does any one know where to get sound deadner. It doesn't have to be the best stuff in the world, just for the floor and fire wall of my car.

I tried repco, they said they didn't do it. I tried Rapid radio too, but they wont sell it. They will do the fire wall and floor plus installed for $550 Incl GST, which isn't too bad for dynamat extreme. But I'd rather do it my self if I can and don't need some thing that good.

So, is there any where that sells cheap stuff?

Those lying bastards......

A Cheaper alternative to DX is Bostik, which should be available from Carters (and possibly other local building suppliers) although you may have to find someone with a clue behind the counter and I don't think it's a stocked product.

Otherwise try Sound Q or B.A.S.S (although they may only have DX)

prices were prety standard for DX. If you want cheaper then look at roof flashing - its a foil topped, bitumen based deadener. Its quite thin though but does a bit to stop noise.

Bostik is best bet as you can buy in a box of 10 of 500mm x 500mm for less than $100 normally
