Anyone know about Telstars?

Postby ollieboy » Sat Apr 21, 2007 4:16 pm

My friend has a 1990 Telstar and its making a ticking sound like loose tappets. Do these have adjustable tappets and if so would anyone be able to give me the specs on what they need to be set to?

Cheers

pretty sure they're hydraulic .... run a flush then change the oil and use MBL8 additive, works really good on mitsi and Subaru hyd tappets.

Depends on the engine, id its a DOHC one it'll be hydrolic, if it's a SHOC, it's most likely a tappet system.

Try www.amazd.co.nz. there are a few Telstars, if its a dohc itll be a BP engine and they would know quite a bit about those lol
I live my life 1000RPM at a time. Nothing else matters, not the blown piston rings, the wasted distributor, the popping oil cap and all that other stuff. For those 8000RPM or more, im free.

Na, if it's a DOHC it'll be a FE engine, similar, but alot stronger. Some one from amazd might know, Fraud Motorsport on there has built a few of them so he'd be the one to talk to.
