Suggestions: 2.5" silencer which flows but is quiet

Postby ~SlideWays~ » Thu May 03, 2007 3:51 pm

Nearing completion of the next phase of my ae92 turbo jobbie.

I want to replace the muffler/silencer with something which doesn't drone like a fecking drain pipe...its just annoying.

So needs to suit 2.5" exhaust, be quiet, flow enough for over 200kw's atw, no bling needed at all...can be black as long as it works!

Any suggestions on a good supplier?

...off to ring some suppliers then

Problem there is that they'll say "ours is best and theirs is crap"

Any decent muffler will do the job. A baffled one would work best for keeping the noise down, the straight through types are better for the centre of systems.
Shiny bling cannons arent much more than a pretty resonator

Okay...
Hi-tech exhausts in Mebourne do the Genie range of mufflers. I have one of these on my car (albeit a 2 inch) and it is really good. Straight through design, internal pipework is actually larger than 2in, muffles really well, stainless (obviously).
I chose it because of a test done on Autospeed.

Major problem... Expensive and you need to talkto Oz to get them because all the NZ people I can find who do genie stuff, don't do their mufflers, and couldn't confirm if they could even get them!
