original paint for 70's toyota corolla

Postby illmatic » Sat May 05, 2007 3:39 pm

Hi
I have a 1979 corolla that will be professionally painted in the next month or so in the original colour.

I vaguely remember it having a 'dulon' sticker in the engine bay. Can anyone please confirm/let me know what extra details that sticker has on it that outlines what sort of paint is used?

Or maybe somebody has a link to a website where that type of info is held?

I'm trying to keep the car as original as possible so any help will be greatly appreciated.

1976 Corolla

Postby andyztouring » Sat May 05, 2007 6:09 pm

The 1976 Toyota Corolla(ke35) were painted in-DULUX ACRYLIC ENAMEL,in my case PUELO BROWN(turd brown).
However by 1979 most NZ Toyotas were painted with LUSTEROID ACRYLIC ENAMEL.My other ke35 is painted in Lusteroid Firefly Yellow.Hope this helps.
