BZR VS TRUCK TYRE

Postby BZR4AGE » Mon May 07, 2007 8:25 pm

well...bad day for me
On the way back home from uni tonight on the southern motorway when something suddenly fell off a truck (something metal), then a second later..a tyre flew on my car (came off a tyre which the truck was driving on)...and the result....

There goes my perfectly good car...and the funny thing is, the truck driver try to tell the cops that i was following too close, which i wasn't....but i mean traveling at 100km/h....there is no way i could have avoided it when there were cars beside me and behind me...if I suddenly brake...my back would be gone...luckily I don't think the cop listen to him much.

Lets hope the truck company pay up without any hassle

NOW..my question is...anyone know WHO IS BEST at fiberglass repairs in Auckland?

Shouldn't matter how close you were, if they can't be bothered securing a load properly then they should expect consequences.

Dont repair the bumper...make the truck company buy you a new one...

after all they caused the damage, and they have to fix it the same standard or better as before the acciedent

The tyre actually came off the wheel of the truck he was driving on, he wasn't transporting tyres - but the speed the tyre came off was very fast..it was like charging at me, i guess i was lucky it didn't flew at my windscreen LOL.

Anyway. ahhaha, i will try to get a quote for the repair, and if the bumper repair will be more expensive than a new one, i will tell them to buy me a new one.

Rocker cover was painted at a panel beater place. I am pretty sure any panel beater can do that with the right paint.

Yeah just get yourself 3 quotes from 'flash' panelbeaters to make it cheaper for them to buy a new bumper 8)

then get a friend to fix your bumper and sell it on trademe

had you mentioned in your first post that the truck tyre was mounted to the truck, then people would not have reacted the same way....would they? you tried to make out it was the truck drivers fault, when it wouldn't appear to be. commercail tyres do delaminate, especially re-caps.

i've seen birds do more damage to the front of a car

have changed my first post...sorry if my english wasn't good. anyway, I didn't blame the truck driver, and i didn't even approach the cop and said it was all his fault blah blah blah...I know these things happens, I actually respect truck drivers because I reckon they are amazing driving such a large beast on the road. I am sure I won't be able to.

the only thing I was hecked about was when he said I was following too close and blah blah blah the usual things you would expect to hear, I ain't saying is the driver's fault.
