its not that exciting really, i wouldnt go out of your way to get one. it just shows average fuel consumption and average speed. its only reeally useful for long journeys anyway.

If you pull the top glovebox out you can see the loom behind, and there is a plug there which I assume is for the trip computer. I was thinking about putting one in mine too. Could be handy when making small mods to see if there is any effect in fuel economy.

Replacing Jap Nav bar with a custom display and trip info

Postby Rager » Wed May 09, 2007 12:56 am

I am hoping to gather information about the data the nav bar gathered and from what sources (ECU?) and then custom design a blue backlit LCD with that info using a micro of some sort.

Would people be interested in it? I just hate having the jap display and not knowing what its saying :)

Thanks

Hi Blitza

Yes I know that. But I need to know how the ECU outputs this Data to the Trip meter so that I can custom build a LCD module that will take that information and output it nicely on screen.

Cause i have a suspicion its just getting the same output that the OBD plugs are getting so I have to translate that information into something useful.

If anyone can read Japanese please can you tell me what all the buttons on the unit say and what is outputted on the screen

Thanks
