Hey guys my Silvertop (AE101 Trueno) runs fine except the engine is sometimes a bit "stall-ish" at idle. For example, if I press the throttle a tiny bit, just a tiiiinsee bit the revs will actually drop and the engine will shake before rising back up. Under driving conditions its fine and it goes hard up top when given some gas. My mechanic says its probably the AFM actin funky. This one time it stalled in traffic though but its probably just my crappy driving or something. Anyway the spark plugs are sweet, so are the leads, so Im guessing its either some clogged injectors or the timing being a tooth off. (Or the AFM)
Also sometimes when Im driving and I change gear or put my foot on the gas I can hear a quiet audible backfire (Little pop sound). My old bluetop used to do this but it had a quite restrictive exhaust system the silvertop has a 2.25" so I was thinking that would be enough to relieve back pressure. Guess not.
Oh yeah, one more thing, I didnt like the pod filter sitting behind the battery so i moved the radiotor overfill thingy and with some elbow grease i managed to get the pod up closer to the radiator on the left side of the battery. Is this a good idea? Im a little concerned because the intake pipe is at a steeper angle so I might have done more harm than good, but it probably doesnt matter eh
Cheers dont bother reading the whole thing im only concerned about the strange behaviour at idle.
Thanks

I live my life 1000RPM at a time. Nothing else matters, not the blown piston rings, the wasted distributor, the popping oil cap and all that other stuff. For those 8000RPM or more, im free.
