Save your pennies until you can afford a decent turbo, $1000 will only buy you problems, not performance.

are we just naming a part you can afford, or are you aiming for a figure?

My kit cost me $2000 second hand, and is rated for 450hp, but to be fair most turbo prices are around that area regardless of HP, or there abouts. So its more a case of your goals and working from there, or just buy somthing and hope for the best ( like me ).

I would recommend a garett ball bearing turbo, gt28 or something like that.

( not a stab, i dont plan to keep my turbo very long ( just to wear things in ) so ill be shopping around for a new kit within the years end.

run a T51R ... on 5psi you could make about 700hp.... not...

what sort oh Hp are you aming for? what use?

good all round Street/Strip/Track. GT2860RS w.64
rated to around the 320hp mark.

or GT3082R rated to around the 400-500 mark
(supplyed one to an Alteza enduro car making 460Rwhp @ 14psi)

or for the extreme GT3582R rated to the 600-700 Hp mark
(suppled one to a 370Rwkw 94 GT-S MR2)

going even futher T04Z 500 - 750hp
(have supplyed one of these to a Gen2 MR2 no results as of yet.)

thats in the Genuine Garrett GT Range.

or you can go in the Turbonetics range
their T3 - T4 series can go from 200 - 500 hp
and further up...
