Well its your decision really....nobody here can tell what car you shoud buy, what do you want you car for? getting the milk and bread, driving long distances, economical?

Those 3cars are totally diffrent, aristos are nice but there a moving barge so unless you want to drive quietly in a bit of comfort not much good, rear drive also

as the levin and windom are front drive, levin being a bit sportier with alot better handling, reliability goes they all have good reliable motors as long as its maintained oviously

go test driving? see what you like

I'd go for the aristro any day, but it is heavy, and will probably chew through fuel. Other wise go for the levin.

The windom is not even worth looking at for that price and km, and they are pretty horrible to fix. If you found a lower km one then they aren't too bad a car.

The levin is a nice car, but there are alot around, even in the new shape.

Not too many windoms around, not many aristos either. I'd say go for the Aristo, cause they do look nice lowered on some tidy rims.

But as the other guys said, it's all up to YOU and what you like the car.

Avoid

Postby andyztouring » Sun May 20, 2007 10:23 am

Avoid Windoms/Camrys with the VZ-FE series engines, have a bad reputation for rusting the top of the engine block leading to blown head gaskets and overheating.Replacement engines are hard to find and are expensive because of that fault. If you get a Windom/Camry V6 get the MZ-FE (i think its called that) ,has less issues with the engine.

The Aristo is a classy car, Supra motor in a family car. Thats what I'd choose if the price of fuel wans't an issue :? But then again like others have said it's what you like - not what everyone else likes.

Don't get the Windom. second hand you can get them here for about $1500. And there is a good reason why.

so your choice is between and Aristo or a Levin. Very very different cars so it'll come down, as has been said above, to what you want the car for. And how much you actually want to spend.

For the record, that Levin looks pretty damn nice up there

cheers fellas

I currently drive an Ae101 Levin Gtz (93) but with my sort of running around the figures don't really work for me in terms of economy. Also the 2 door package doesn't work well when I have family members who might need a ride  lol .. I was leaning towards the Windom, (or the es300 lexus as they call it here) because its not too heavy and I figured it would be fine as the owner is the 2nd one (ever). However I wasn't aware of that engine issue that Andzytouring highlights..

So might just have to go the Levin? I like Supercharge but honestly I can get a decent price for what I have now and its gonna require more $$ to make it look better (needs complete respray, front screen scratches etc) but the Levin is quite tidy. its the Bz-g version.

for economy, the levin is the best option as said above. It is still a 2 door tho, so you aren't really getting anything over the GTZ you have now in that way.

But it is a tidy looking car, so good luck. 8)

how about looking for a GT corolla, or corona with the 3sge?

or even a GT caldina?

the aristo is a nice car, but i dont see it being more ecomonical than the gtz.

as for the windom..... its already been said above....

If you want a cruise car, choose the Aristo over the Windom any day.

If you want a performance car, well, theres only really one option there unless you plan on spending heaps of money on the Arito :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Thanks for the replies again fellas

With the Aristo, all I'm thinking is fuel consumption, premium charges for when repairs come up and just heavy barge feel.

The Windom, being badged as Lexus. I was thinking hmm a maintained Lexus with logbooks, would make for a good cruiser.

The Levin is nice no doubt, 20v blacktop + superstrut

what about the Cressida? I know its old but this one has just had a complete bottom end engine rebuild and is cheap as! but I think it looks decent and rwd too. (grande version, 4900$ aussie, sunroof etc)

For the price its being offered at, I could drive it as is and look at even getting a 1jz put in later on? lol

and that is the exact one for sale ^^

7M-Ge ? lol

Cars in Aussie are a fortune more than over here. No doubt theyre nice cars etc, but the main problem is...

what do YOU want?

Fuel economy, 4 doors, anti barge feel, and sporty?
No offense but dont see it happening...

yeah they are a fortune no doubt..

Ideall 4 doors, economy isn't too big an issue, I could put up with an Na 6cyl. I sort of like the Cressida shape and its not too common here now.

hmmm

Altezza? Or maybe even something along the lines of a Carib, Caldina or other sports wagon?

hmmm I think I'll just keep the current Gtz, and not be an impatient noob. Whenever family comes around, will work on something.

anything I can replace though to get better fuel economy on the Gtz? freakin only 380-400 kms tops and can only fill up 42L damnit :(

on another note though, is there any place I could possibly find the rear 2 seatbelts? I opened up all the rear trim to disover its the spring mechanism in the seatbelts which are fudged and make the most annoying rattle when I'm driving around.. :x

Cheers
