what size external wastegate

Postby sk1dlet » Sun May 20, 2007 2:00 pm

hey all i have a 4agte still in the build i just got my hybrid T3-HT18 back from being built. It still has the internal wastegate but i can't be bothered making up brackets etc for the actuator and i'll loose the bling factor of the shiney compressor housing.
now would a 30mm external wastegate be too small to control boost for this type of turbo or would it be better to go for a 38-46mm wastegate? i'll be using the electronic boost control on the lem v5
any help would be appreciated
cheers
dylan

i have an audi quattro one that is pretty close to a 38mm you can have a fair exchange of $

a 38mm is definately safe and would do what you want, would suck if went for one smaller and had to change it later. although i dont know what you can get thats smaller than 38mm?
