even my parents 250,000km old stock standard b16a integra would see off most blacktop ae111's. why can't people just accept they are in different leagues...

hmm put them side by side on the 1/4 and then a couple of laps of a track then compare, dyno/Street race results are not relevant, stock for stock, moded no doubt the b16>

My brothers old ae101 felt like a completly different car after an engine rebuild.
so much more grunt compared to before.
and the same again when we got the ecu off revhead 8)
was definatly the most impressive silvertop I've been in.
Guessing the suffer quite significantly from wear and tear.
2011 Ford Mondeo tdci.

Hey, at least it sounds like a 3s.

if any of you are after a fast car and end up with an ae111 or a civic there is something $&#$% in your head.

Well said. :) Owning my BT is like owning it just for the sake of an icon thing, i.e. last gen. 4AGE. Never was fast

Even though the <1600cc NA classes at Honda vs. Toyota drags are won by white wash? I though half the reason those events were organised was to settle such debates.

lol im not that good a driver
my parents POS 250km old integra had an easy life tho, up until i started driving it i dont think it ever saw over 5000rpm
it sure did rev out nice, and it felt more eagre than any n/a 4age ive been in. i woulda played with 2 or 3 ae111's in that car, and it was usually close into 3rd then the honda just put started slipping away. and as you say, thats the heaviest body available for the b16.
i had always wanted to dyno that car because up until my little sister drove it into a tree and drove home 20km with no coolant in it , it went suprisingly well. consistently did 550km per tank and never broke either.

im not bias either way, as neither really interest me  but thats what ive seen first hand, and if i was to buy one or the other, id probly buy a honda.

in saying that, i've been in 2x blacktop ae82/92's and they both hauled really nicely.
when you've only got up to 100wkw to play with weight can be a huge deciding factor i guess.

honda's make a better stock motor and that is a well proven fact
i guess if the honda guy short shifted then perhaps the 20v would win
and i guess then you could say it's down to the driver...

i just get a bit tired of people bringing it up as a vs debate to be honest.

a few moons ago it would have been inconcievable that a 1.6L engine in a production car would have been capable of over 150hp. right up to the late 80's it was unheard of. i still reckon the 4age was a huge achievement for toyota, it certainly pushed the corolla class of cars up a notch.

i wonder what engines people will be comparing in 15 years time :D maybe someone will be complaining that hondas 2010 hybrid engines only made 400hp to toyotas 420  i saw something the other day that toyota had conceptualised a 600hp hybrid with a 5L v8 8O

All of them, on average.

DA6 I am pretty sure are heavier than AE101s and AE111s, yet at Masterton there was a dude with a fairly mild DA6 that used to do 14.5s at virtually every meet. Wayyy back in ~2001 there was an "Allmotor" shoot thing done by NZPC at Champion and a DA6 with boltons and a chip, with some interior removed and 18" rims on ran a 13.7 or 13.8 if I remember rightly.

I'll quote some times from NZHondas 1/4 mile records thread: http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/-official-1-4-mile-records-by-chassis-and-engine--vtu51446.html

DA6/B16A - ET 13.10 - T1RED
EFx/ZC* - ET 14.6 - Non Vtec , Trap 158 - Non Vtec
EFx/B16A - ET 14.28 - racevtec , Trap 165 - racevtec
EFx/B16A - ET 13.7 - revlimit
EKx/B16A - ET 14.21 - B0NDIE , Trap - 153.6 - B0NDIE (sir2nv)
EKx/B16B - ET 14.6 - Ali , Trap 152 - Ali (not EK9)
EK9/B16B - ET 14.5 - H1REVS , Trap 153 - H1REVS

Is there an equivalent list for the 1600cc Toyotas here?
