same make & model of what? a cage? cages dont have a make & model (correct me if i am wrong Leon)

But as stated above, a cage is homologated to a particular car, when this is done it is given an identification number.

If you take that cage out of the car it was put in & place it in another the identification number is no longer valid & the cage must be re-homologated with in the new car & given new homologation details.

EDIT .....

Or are you asking if your car will have to be certified for having a cage in it?

If thats your question then yes it will be & it will have to adhere to the rules that apply for that particular application.

A cage is homologated to a specific vehicle. eg: chassis number AW12345678, and remains valid so long as it is fitted to that exact bodyshell. If you put it into AW 987654321 then it gets re-homologated to that new bodyshell.

The second you take a cage out of the specific car it was fitted to, your homologation goes out the window. You then re-homologate it when you fit that cage to another car. If it doesn't fit the rules of today, it will require upgrading until it does.

Certification is what you do to put a modified car on the road.

Homologation is what you do when you fit a cage to a car for competition. Very different things.

Yes bolt in cages are legal and always have been.

And I did get my Jap spec bolt in cage in my GTiR pulsar homologated.

Reguired to pull the cage out and weld the footing plates in under the cage feet of the appropiate size, and upgrade the bolts in the joints to the required spec, and that was about it from memory, but that was about .... maybe 8 to 10 years ago???

However, it was not one of the ones that have the reverse bends around the dash.

The rules may have changed now though.
