Postby Emz » Mon Jun 18, 2007 11:08 pm

Yeh I've seen that site thanks. Just wanting to have a look at a variety of different sites/articles and someone told me to have a look at that Fast Fours article. :)

The thing is with 2JZ tuning is that everyone goes for to much power and don't realise it absolutely roots your power curve. In my view for a street car a small responsive turbo is the way to go nothing bigger than a Garrett 35 R which will still pump 600 odd HP.

But with BPU mods on the factory twins 400 HP is quite possible on the factory twins.I reckon between 450-520 is the number you should look at for the 2JZ with a small responsive turbo which reaches full boost by 3500 rpm will give you best use of the factory rev limit of 6800 rpm.If you go any bigger turbo wise you will run into big problems traction wise. The 2JZ is a torque fiend more boost lose traction its over.

When picking a turbo for your car just think of it as where do you do most of your driving then select your turbo no use getting a big turbo that does'nt get full boost until 5000 rpm thats useless.Response is the key how quick you get there all is big turbos do are give you the light switch power curve on then grab the next gear lag on and so on....

Well I'm considering going single with a Garrett GT3540
Its rated at 700 bhp (good for 400rwkw @ 24 psi) which I think would be plently for me.
