Sard Supra - testing for new supra?

Postby rolla_fxgt » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:57 am

Found this article online & it got me wondering if toyota is using this as a test for the running gear of the new supra/lexus lfa. Or perhaps even a bit of promotion to get people more intterested in their new hybrid sports cars.

Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

Just slightly off topic but everyones talking about the new GTR being a weapon.I really think that Lexus LF-A will be the car that will surprise alot of people performance wise..Does'nt it just have a watered down F1 motor from 2005 something like a 5 litre V-10??????

Even more off topic

I saw an article in a magazine at work about a concept they'd built from their Cali design studio, the car was meant to fill the gap the supra had left. It was a Petrol/Electric hybrid, it looked amazing and it's power specs were impressive (Can't remember them now), but would anyone really buy a Hybrid performance car?

It also had a proper drive by wire system (No steering column, steering wheel movements read by magnet or something and front wheels are moved accordingly) Sounds really rum to me, how are you supposed to get any feedback through that?

EDIT: Just had a proper read of the article above, maybe it's the same engine as in the article i read....?

Magnets get dirty and then have bad contacts.... i don't want bad electrical contacts to have anything to do with my steering, ball and pinion for the win! >_<

The one i saw was very similar to that Volta but was less "I wanna be a spaceship" and for want of a better word, more refined.
