Check this out. Looks like it could be rapid but OMFG MOVE THE AIR FILTER!!!!!!!!
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 379432.htm
The engine is breathing air that has been preheated by the intercooler AND the radiator!!!! COME ON PEOPLE. He cant spell either.
Don't the commoners know that hot air is BAD!?

*looks outside*
Is it warm enough to go to the garage yet? I'm bored.

unfortunately in a car like that space is rather at a premium. It looks like he has done the best that he can, that being said it wouldn't have been that hard to put a panel on the passenger side above the guard and ducted that down

Great little cars, and Chevrons are one of the strongest of all the 7 replicas out there. My mate in the club has one that he has used for 20 years on gravel Hillclimbs, Autocrosses, Rallysprints and (I believe) even the odd rally. Rolled it into a tree once, yet there has never been even a hint of chassis weakness from it. Unlike other replicas (like the Frasers) which are aimed for the tarmac only. (And which is more than can be said for the boss's AW11...)

In my mates car he has the filter in front of the radiator, there is quite a bit of empty space there (and there looks to be on this car too), the only issue would be routing the intake pipe around the radiator.
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

yeah they are a pretty cool little car! As for the air filter, there isn't much space, in those things, yeah there room in front of the radiator but no room to get the pipes around radiator (well in mine anyway) the best way would be a vent/duct in the bonnet. I have a 18RG in mine with twin carbs so the air filter just sits on them, and will put get around to making some sort of vent/duct to get cold air in. a hint if anyone looking to buy it, make sure you can get in, as they a pretty tight fit!

i really dont think he would need the very small power increase you would get from moving the filter. that thing is badass and would easily beat rs legacies

Yeah. My mate offered me his one for sprints at Taupo one year, when I tried to get in all I succeded in doing was getting my left leg and butt-cheek in and reducing a bunch of grown men into tears of hysteria as they watched my vain attempts

Isnt that why I'm here? To be critical..... I know everything. I'm awesome. Bask in my Awesomeness!!!!! Kidding.
I had a 7 replica for a while. I was going to buy it off the old man but yeh. I had the STARVIA, GO THE STARVIA!! OH YEH!!! and an Anglia as well. I just couldnt afford it so I gave it back after fixing it up so it was road legal again I owed him some of your human monies anyway.
I just recon that since most of the carby 7's have big as holes and filters sticking through the engine cover/bonnet..... Why didn't he do something like that. I don't mean just stick the pod out in the wind. That would look a bit rangi. Make something that looks 'like' the carby filter arrangement. You could even pretend it was NA then :P

Of cause since I know everything...... I have actually measured both an SR20DE and a 7 replica....... The SR will stick a fair way above the top of the bonnet. Its a tall engine with all those cams n' things on the top there.
GO THE STARVIA!! OH YEH!!

Pity it's a Chevron, one of the uglier 7 reps.

I'm a purist, so twin carbed 4 pot in a decent Lotus 7 S3 rep for me please. At the very outside, quad throttles will suffice.
