Postby TRD_ZERO » Sun Jun 24, 2007 12:26 pm

IM after some ACL race series bearing for my Blacktop, bigends and mains. Where abouts do i get them from and do i need to know someone in the trade to get them at that low price?? Can anyone help me out here?? And ARP bolts im planning on getting some rod bolts for my engine build but was also wondering about the mains cap bolts. Should i get the mains cap bolts?? I just dont want to spend money on unnecessary items. Im getting the arp rod bolts to prevent the bigends from going, well help prevent. Do i really need the mains caps bolts?? And can anyone help me out here on where to get them and maybe even trade prices??

ACL bearings go order them from supercheap... there cheap as... repco you will pay more even if you get staff.
They have to order them in takes like a day,
cost All acl race from supercheap...
mains $66.64
Big ends $51.43
Thrust(std) $17.83
ACL 20v Premium rings $100.50

Get ARP rod bolts, doubt you will find them for less than $125 unless someone has a set they are trying to sell, mains wouldn't worry for the cost, I managed to score a set of new ARP main studs for $80 but I think there meant to be $260+?

So flag the mains just use the standard ones and just get the rodbolts? those prices that you stated
mains $66.64
Big ends $51.43
at supercheap i just walk in and order them no staff discount required?

No need to worry about rings as i just got my new gze pistons in the mail and they came with new rings. I should maybe add that this is a blacktop turbo engine.

yep just walk in and order, they don't have listings so doit on a week day so they can ring up acl and order them, grab the part numbers you want off the acl website so you get the right stuff (they don't seam to have acl race books)

works out 100+ cheaper than repco I think from memory

Def use ARP rod bolts (as you should really replace them once used anyway)
Main bolts.... pending what you want to spend you can go with out them.

Thanks man that is just what i wanted...........one more question before i order them as i dont want to be getting the wrong things. There are two sets of part numbers and under them they both have STD with one having numbers following. Whats with the numbers? Are they for oversize? I just want standard size so what part numbers do i use?? I know its probably a stupid question and i must be overlooking something. Help?

STD.... an over used term....

measure your rods, measure your crank... then work out what size you need.

there is stock an oversize, then the next number nearby is for xtra oil clearance, you probably don't want todo that, so you will be after the main part number then the size needed.... does pay to measure up to be sure

What conrods are you going to use?
Blacktop conrods are well known for adding extra breathing holes to the side of your block at high revs.
Not sure how they like boost but silvertop or GZE rods would be much
better in my opinion.
