Seems like the the toyota boys are keen to race. The past 2 H Vs T have been organised by a NZhondas member. Perhaps this time toyspeed should organise one and invite nzhondas. Settle this again.

Keep an eye at www.oscc.co.nz they usually organise at least one 1/4 mile every year, as well as regular autocrosses etc.

Have you driven an 1800cc 2zzge corolla lately??

so much better than a 20V that they are probably worth the $2000 or so extra they cost.

Indeed... I'm willing let anyone in Dunedin drive mine on the condition that "you break it, you own it."

Have been for a spin in the type R teg, and mine, and both the honda driver and myself preferred mine, and thought it was faster... we were not on a track mind you, so it was all "butt dyno" thoughts.

I gotta say, there was a dyno day in Palmy last weekend and a Corolla of your shape ran 115kw @ wheels. Thats a very impressive figure on that dyno, a Civic Type-R ran ~105fwkw - very unusual for me to be at a dyno day that a NA Toyota out does an NA Honda, even when the Honda is supposed to be a bit of a slightly power level stock.

Thats at best still only around the same power as a now 11 year old 1.8litre Type-R Integra makes stock on the same dyno, which at around 150kg lighter its a safe bet will be a quicker car in a straight line - let around on corners. If they have a 6 speed they might make the power delivery feel a bit more solid.

If a Toyota vs Honda drag day IS sorted, we HAVE to get that guy with the Worlds Coolest Corona to go. You know the one Im talking bout Dunedinites.

things are being set in motion for a wee grudge event on 28th of July at Levels. unfortuneately, the Honda guys will walk away with it, as Toyspeed will be to 'yella' to turn up!! so it will probably be Honda vs Subaru

I'll 'bring it' with my work's Daihatsu Sirion! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

hopefully another Toyota vs Honda match up happens once my ke20 is finished. i HATE most honda drivers (some are ok, but some are just soooo annoying). always trying to race you, always got there wee gangsta hats on. 220 RWKW should be enough to beat some HONDA ASS?!

i think the honda na boys (yes thats me) will have a tougher time of it this time around. a lot of the honda boys are binning b16s in favour of b18s. this means 2 things. 1: there will be less modified na b16s around so the 4age guys will have a better chance of winning the 1600cc class. 2: the b18c guys will be racing the 1600cc turbo toyota guys and some of the 4agte's around now are getting quite fast. our na advantage will be a lot less and you guys usually have the advantage in the bigger engine turbo classes. could be toyotas year to take the win. although i will be there with bells on to keep you all honest.
12.7@174kph. no turbo, no supercharger, no NOS, ALLMOTOR.

You'll find there is an even proportion of Toyota drivers like that. Can usually tell the ones with that kind of character, have avatars or stickers on their cars like:

exactly the logic behind trying to get a 'grudge event going. i guess the haters will be on the bank talking themselves up on the 28th??
