Also, when you say chipped , I presume you mean it has had an LS1edit or similar.
I remember asking a cop in Taupo back in 1996 if they received a special Police option pack, he said "No, what for, car is quick enough standard to do the job, just get on the radio otherwise."

just so its out there, you can not chip vx vy vz ve ecu's as their apart of a very intelligent computer system. the only way is to use an a/m computer, or hack your own program for the standard ecu, which will cause other ecu's on the vz and ve to not function properly due to being can-bus systems

did anyone say it was a Police only option??????

lucasthefallen wrote:also, if i had of known you were talking about police vehicles from 10 years ago i would have stayed out of it. but to my knowledge this chase was only a few days ago.... they definatly were not VS VT.
maybe learn to read, even the VE have the uprated suspension , as in "VT onwards". so that essentially means ALL of them have it.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

I remember them getting them, they were s15's iirc, i think whoever was questioning you was taking the 10 years as a set time, not a rough time.

Deaf Rattle I'm just up the road from you these days (on Duncan Ave off Mcleod) and I did hear sirens (thought it was weird to be using them so late), but I haven't heard any results of the chase though....
I guess the wrx got up to glendene shops round about and went the whole way around and came back down the hill?

Ive had the chance to thrash two different 2007 SV6,s and they feel slower than the last executive, ( and exectuve aint even the good model) cant even do decent linelocks in the new ones. And i cannot recall myself or anyone else from work getting over 170 in the sv6?? has anyone else??

Idiot.

Just. Total. Idiot.

Yay for company cars ay...

Ive been in a sv6 over 180. And as so many people said above, its not the car, its the driver.... Take a average car, and a great driver, and it will beat a great car with a sh*t driver....

And why would I be an idiot??? dont give me the whole " people like you give us enthusists a bad name " bullshit 8O Im not your local hood saying " F the police" " F'n pigs always picking on me" if i get caught being a dick (which i have) i take it on the chin and bear it!

Back to the VE sv6s, I never said they couldnt do 180, i just said i hadnt, and no one i knew had either. Sure if the road to my work was long enough maybe I could do it?? but hell even my old rodeo work ute could do it. If you read properly i said they feel slower than the last ones..... Not they are... numb nuts.

re-opened due to new information....

PM'ed to me by a forum member:

Holden Police Patrol Cars are not standard. Holden produce a "Police Pack"
version for NZ and Australian police forces. This has FE II suspension,
special looms for emergency lighting (in the VE it is a second battery),
police spec brake pads, digital speedo option, surveillance option for
interior lighting. Tyres are selected separately by trialling available
options and selecting the best.

Police use both owned and leased cars for different functions.

Hope this answer you questions.

cheers
