Doesn't surprise me really, Cardwells' service is less than desirable from previous experience, and their prices are not often competitive.

238+GST on some valve is extortion!
I would rather connect a servo to a $5 ball valve for 1/10 of the price.

yeah cardwells only likes to deal with serious racing people/teams mostly stock car and V8 people. if you just walk off the streets theyd rather refer you to another shop then deal with you. i had to fight teeth and claw to get a price on some wilwood calipers and even then it was way over priced. so much so you get the hint there trying to say "F@K OFF WHERE TOO BUSY" so i just ordered them from a company in the states.

back on it: can u explain how this servo ball valve thing will work, i had a similar idea but don't have the know how to do it.

simple - a servo with small control unit, mechanically connected to ball valve.
I it could be a stepper motor instead. Basically anything will do as long as it has enough speed and torque. I personally would build the controller on small ATMEL chip with some sort of position sensors (microswitches).

Les Hunter is here in Christchurch and reasonably priced for Wilwood stuff, hope ya tried him. You have obviously brought now so no biggie, worth trying for brake parts in the future.

Sorry for off topic, I'll keep quiet now

Ok - I have done a little footwork and can offer the following as a group buy:

Image
3qt Accusump $319.99+gst
2qt Accusump $299.99+gst
1qt Accusump $279.00+gst

We need 5 or more units for the buy to go ahead.

Please note - there is stuff all profit in this for us - as the discount we can obtain from Accusump is two tenths of stuff all - but if people want them, we will supply them - as thats all part of the service of sponsoring Toyspeed :-)

Will this buy just wait until there are 5? Or is there a time limit?
I'm keen to get one, but I figure I should spend my money getting the car back on the road first...

The group buy can only go ahead if there are 5 orders, as they wont allow us to order less than that.

Re soleniod - i didnt see any solenoids listed on their website sorry - its just for the accusumps.

Seen as how no one else seems to wanna get hold of one. I've ended up getting one from Cardwells.
