So you want to tell people about why toyotas are better, when you dont even know if/how/why this is true?

An NSX is better than a toyota echo, a supra is better than a honda jazz.

Perhaps you could write a speech about the trends in the automotive world, such as manufacturer based fanboyism being associated with lower socio economic brackets, and/or poor/young/stupid people.

Agreed with Dave, the comment is far too generalised. We all know Toyota makes better turbo cars, honda makes wicked n/a's. And i'd take an NSX over most toyotas anyday :D

Rather than a poop flinging speech, how about you just focus on why Toyota's are good cars?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

(have one or two other things but cant remeber off the top of my head) if you get wat im meaning and yea i cant have it technicail otherwise it would be a defenant crash and burn

The thing is, most hondas are not crap! Its just a part of the 'scene' i guess. Toyota owners dont like honda's, WRX owners hate evo's blah blah blah. Theres nothing wrong with the cars themselves (well maybe subbies ). Its just how it is (and i think its stupid).

I do think the best idea would be on why Toyotas are good cars, why Hilux's are the most popular ute's, why Corollas are the most popular cars etc.

I did my speech on the 'boyracer' laws when they came out

Why do you say that? I've seen Legacys and WRX's used in motorsport that have the nuts thrashed of them all the time and seem to be reliable.

I could say ST185 GTfours are the most overrated turboed car of the 90's which could be right but I won't as I like them :P

dont want to get off topic but i have seen alot of subbes broken down or crapping out (after spending a bit of time at micanics) and to add to it they are expencive to fix
the rally subbies would be good because they would be maintaind properly (even the most un reliabil engin will seem n reliabil if maintaind properly)

anyway the idea on focous in it on toyotas being great sounds good (and will b esyer to present im hoping) so yea.
just ondering does anyone know of any good referance sites about toyotas (to make my life esyer and back up wat i say)
thnx

I'm not saying thats true, i just tried to give an example of similar vehicles from different manufacturers. For example 4AGE vs B16A, 3SGTE vs SR20DET vs EJ20T vs 4G63T. Look on some other forums, sometimes that what you'll see (not me, i personally love subbies and evo's)

The subbies unreliability was just a joke, hence the .

GT4's arent overrated, other turbo cars will kick its arse. I like it not cos its faster than everything else, its just different to every other car on the road..

i dont think motorsport is really a good way to compare manufacturers of passenger cars. race cars are a whole different breed. its a generalised thing to say, but at my work the cars that sail through their services with no problems are inevitably nissans and toyotas. the subs always seem to have something else that needs doing as well...

I could say ST185 GTfours are the most overrated turboed car of the 90's which could be right but I won't as I like them :P

i think you'll find if you compare them to the 4WD turbos being made by other manufacturers at the time (VR-4s, legacys) they come out looking alright. comparing an ST185 to an evo or a WRX is not really fair is it?

You mean like lets say 1992, When the WRX and EVO 1came on the scene?

IMO the legacy and the VR4 were better cars anyway, TTR had to throw millions at the WRC celicas to get them going any good.
I toyed with the idea of getting one for a club racer but was warned off them as they were under steering pigs

The cars I am talking about are nothing more than road cars with cages and a little suspension, for instance a Legacy RS with over 280,000k's on it going strong... whereas my AE92 is on gearbox number 3

Your right, I have friends that swear that Rotary engines are reliable if maintained properly, The problem with that type of car as well as EJ20's etc is that they have a huge following and alot of munters buy them that don't know what the term "service" means, Cars like nissans and toyotas just seem to be a little more forgiving in that area

All cars regardless of make or age are potentially Lemons - Sorry for Hijacking your thread, will keep on topic now, but proves a point that saying that one car is more reliable than another will open a can of worms
