Aftermarket Steering Wheel Horn Button Question

Postby haydo » Fri Jul 20, 2007 10:23 pm

I bought a new steering wheel as below:

I've installed one before but this one is slightly different. It has two horn buttons as pictured and I don't know how to connect it up as both sides have a very short (1 cm at most) red and blakc wire coming out of the back of it with none of those spade things on it just plain wire. Anyone have any ideas on how to connect the horn up

ok, looks like that ring thing in the first pic is gonna be your earth, so:

1) solder one wire to the black wire on the button, and put a spade terminal on the other end and put that onto the tab thing on that ring, then

2) take the wire from the boss kit and solder it to the red wire on your button

once you screw the wheel to the boss kit, the horn will work

guess i should mention you should cover the wires where you have soldered with heatshrink or electrical tape.
