Yeah man I'm loving this Mclaren and Ferrari are like 2 heavyweight boxwea slugging it out.Alonso was really good at the end there but if the race had stayed dry I still reckon the Ferraris are a little faster..

Typical Ferrari Machiavellian intrigue, that's what happens when you let Itallians control Scuderia Ferrari

I thought they would have learnt after 20 years without a championship that this stuff doesn't work, and they need to stick to winning on the track, not trying to disrupt their rivals off the track. It only turns around and bites them in the bum

FWIW if only half of what Ron Dennis hints at in that letter is true then Ferrari may be very dissapointed after the appeal hearing, and it may even result in McLaren being aquitted of the charges ;)

The only thing that concerned me about this whole saga is what is Mclaren's head designer doing with top secret Ferrari data. But true they should get on with it on the track.

I agree with fivebob re if the info in that letter is true Ferrari are going to be sorely dissapointed.

Im not clued up on all things motorsport regulations, but could it not happen that Ferrari's season opener result is decleared null & void due to their moving floor?
Perhaps if this can happen it could be a case of just dock both mclaren & ferrari 10 points or whatever, and hey presto mclaren are punished just like ferrari wanted.

Why would ferrari spread so much incorrect info in the 1st place? Surely they're not that stupid that they thought they would get away with it?

And is it all really just a case of Ferrari being pissed they got found out so early for having an illegal floor that they knew would of made them quicker than the rest this year?

They were losing and McLaren were running away with the championship, so they decided to distract McLaren in the hope of shifting the momentum their way, and maybe getting a few points docked from their rivals as a bonus.

They're also doing it so to feed the tifosi with as much innuendo as possible, so that everyone will think that if McLaren win the championship it doesn't really count. You should read some of the crap that's appearing on the Ferrari boards.

FWIW anyone I've ever heard from that has worked at McLaren says that Ron Dennis is very honest and wouldn't tolerate such behaviour in he team, the way the tifosi are reacting, you'd believe that he is the devil incarnate

Never liked Alonso, like him even less now. He's a whining prima donna who can't stand competition, especially from his team mate.

up till now i had no problem as all the "fighting" had been on track, where it should be.
a stunt like that in qual is low.
i think he just lost a lot of his fan base.

I don't no quite what to say about the antics of Alonso especially doing something like that to his so called teamate man I like Alonso as a driver but yeah really must be feeling the pressure that Hamilton is putting on him...... 8O

As for the race if Mclaren don't get a 1,2 here there will be something seriously wrong as they definitely have the advantage over Ferrari and the rest of the field this weekend.

I've never been an Alonso fan but have to admire what he can do for a team. Much as I hate to say it I don't think the turnaround at McLaren this year is solely due to the designers getting the car right - it can't be a coincidence that as soon as he switches teams the Maccas start to fly and the Renaults start floundering.

But if this really was gamesmanship by Alonso then that really is low...
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Seems the stewards don't agree with him. Alonso demoted 5 positions on the grid  , McLaren to forfeit any constructors points for this round

Even though Alonso's been demoted 5 spots I still think he's got a good shot at a podium those Mclarens are a good .5 second a lap quicker than the next best on the grid.Should be interesting going into the 1st corner.
