Gtt Nav bar

Postby bbq1988 » Mon Jul 23, 2007 12:43 pm

Hi All

I have recently purchased a Caldina GT-T 1997. It is a japanese import and it has a Nav Bar or something (it does things like specify Km/L etc and direction from what I can tell). It is situation above the radio and is part of the dash. its just below the clock.

Can anybody please tell me if you can get an english model for them? Failing that is there an alternative option to put in there?

No english version available, although it is kinda cool watching the compass, and the trip computer readouts of km/l and average speed etc.

You can replace it with a small glovebox, or a flip out gps screen (also next to useless in NZ). It is possible the module with the flip out screen could be modified to fit a din-size stereo, although I haven't had a closeup examination of one.

Here it is in and all painted up, i repainted the whole lot of the centre console to blend it in, the oil psi gauge isnt hooked up yet, and the other hole will take an air/fuel ratio gauge.

and i hadnt considered selling/ modifying them, i image by the time i got the parts and make it, it wud be round $100 bucks i would say. and it would come back primer grey.

I actually quite like the navbar. Quite interesting seeing the spikes after stabbing the loud peddle on the avg fuel graph :)
