altezza seats IMO are perfectly reflective of the type of car you are in. Which is a medium sized family car, that weighs lots, and has an engine that has enough go to pull its fat ar$e around.

it wont set the world on fire with its extremeness... just like the seats wont set your ar$e on fire.. hell i spent 8 hours in mine last saturday and i've got absolutely no complaints. Neither does my backside.

those seats pictured are exactly the same as mine, trim and all..

No worse than V6 Toyotas, Nissans, Mazdas etc

After owning two Mitsubishi V6's, and working in a parts job I can tell you Mitsubishi V6s are one of the cheaper V6s to maintain/get parts for. Try pricing up a head gasket set for a Mazda V6 and compare to a Mitsi V6, or any other V6 and you'll see which is the worst for spare parts.

yeah, i had a diamante before my trueno, and yup, the gearbox poo'ed itself and 3k to repair it...

but even tho it was only a 2.5 non mivec one it still went all right... i seem to remember an ex-nelson toyspeed member's levin having trouble keeping up with it...

but yeah, even lowered it handled like a boat, but supremely comfy on the open road, and lots of cool gadgets, like auto lights, auto wipers, hidden compartment, factory tv, touch screen controls, heated electric seats, 10 disc stacker, 8 inch sub all factory....

and they are CHEAP as now....
id buy another one...

i reckon $202.31 is cheap!
anyway gasket set isnt normal service!

try cambelt parts.... not uncommon for the mitsi belt alone to cost more than the entire kit for a toyota 8O

doesnt toyota subsidse the cost of cambelt stuff on its cars to standardise pricing? takes a hit on the big ones, makes its money on the smaller more common ones...

eg i did a cambelt on a 4.3 lexus the other day, belt from giltraps was $75 retail, aftermarket was $205 trade price ex australia!

Yeah Toyota genuine parts on the whole are USUALLY cheaper than most other makes, not just Mitsubishi! Hyundai also subsidise their parts to get a standard price between the cars.

When talking aftermarket it's a different story though. I'm rebuilding my MIVEC 6A12 Mitsi V6 (not because it shat itself either... just because I wanted a fresh engine to start with) and head set is $180, rings are $100, water pump $75, cambelt $110, tensioners $120 all up, infact the most expensive part were the bearings which had to be ordered direct from Mitsubishi as ACL didn't make aftermarket bearings for my engine.

Last time I priced up a head gasket set for a 4A-GE 16V it was just as much as my Mitsi V6, which has two of everything!

Everything else for Mitsis is no more expensive than any other make - brake pads are often shared between the models (ie early Evo 1-4 brake pads are the same as Pajero and Diamante etc), oil/air filters, spark plugs, shocks etc are usually the normal typical price.

Why not a late 90s Primera? For the price bracket you're looking at you could get damn near anything. Altezza would be a nice option though.

Peronsally I have to get a boring daily or I seem to want to spend money on it. Hence I'm driving a diesel Bluebird  Having said that, it costs nothing to run. Gutless as hell but its only around town so doesn't matter.

Haha, i got a late 90's primera cos it stops me spending money on it . Mines a 97 Camino, its SR18DE auto, good on gas. Only cost $9500 from a dealer as well, only had 33000km on the clock. It is a basic car tho, its not the most comfortable car on the road, but it suits me fine.
