Dynoed my caldina now with plots

Postby 99gtt » Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:35 pm

I am about to rebuild my engine so i thought i better get a dyno run with the factory ecu, to compare later as i will be getting an aftermarket ecu. I got 309 hp at the hubs. [img] Image[/img]

I'm wondering what turbo too.
If it takes you till 5k rpm to hit 7psi.........

Nice power figure for 7.4psi !!!

all the dyno operators need to work out a standard, as some give out flywheel calculations and some give real at the wheels figures :?

That's why it pays to know how to read the various dyno manufacturers plots. Which is why I divided by the TCF (or should that be BSF) of 1.09 to get the actual figure at the hubs. The incorrect ratio of 4.160 (should be 4.165) also makes a very minor difference, but it's only about 0.25hp in this case.

who measures in PS and lb/ft anyway :wink: it should be against the law to work in old money :lol: we should be strictly kw and nm (227kw/371nm flywheel)

get a decent bottom end and ecu on it and stretch the turbos legs a bit.

ps = German :)

So what is that correction factor mean? Still pretty decent power for 7.4psi, though don't really know exactly how to relate that figure to anything.

Yikes that turbo is laggy!!!!

from fivebob's post a few above yours..

However, if it is truely PS then remember to multiply by 0.9863 to convert to hp in which case it's 279.9 :wink:

edit: Wasn't this the car we had the big estimation thread about how much power it was really going to make?

Not that it makes any difference to the performance of the car.

For most cars, or is 4wd? Roughly, you times the horsepower at the wheels by 1.2-1.3 to get the power at the flywheel, read it somewhere, dont know where there...

Sorry I meant correction method, I know what correction factor is but am used to seeing SAE or DIN used. What is the one used here?

You should actually be dividing by 1 - drivetrain%.... so if its 20%, it should be 227kw / (1 - 0.20) or 227/.8
