"$&#$% the dash"

The car isn't going to be anything other than a rally car from this point on ... even if you sell the car, nobody is going to look at it and go "mint car, pity you cut the dash" 8) They're going to go "my god, there's bars everywhere".

Being short you dont have the big can of worms that us tall guys have to worry about - I'm 1.93m makes seat mounting positions lots of fun I tell ya.

You must be near sitting in the boot! The struggle I have had to get to fit in the Celica is monumental! And I'm only 6'1"..... Another thing to watch with the Celica and I supect Curren is the seat height. You cant get anywhere near seeing the front corners but seeing as much of the bonnet as possible is advantageous.
I thought the drivers were being soft complaining about the room and the vision in the Celica. I can confirm both are appauling and I havent even started the engine.

My cage is all molly.

Ok, well i guess i could copy just the instrument cluster part and were the sterio used to go as i have allready made a custom filler panel in there from the original face. and then just have a small fibreglass dash much less weight to!, redmist u mite be interested in one to evan?, also the plates that go onto the car were they cage mounts to these only need to be welded like this Image ? not right round? correct else if they are welded right round they wont move and mite tear?

so bring the front roll bars down the front pillers? and then just say drop them down just at the opening for the door? witch would kill the dash?

No, either exactly the same as the DBR9 or the same as mine with the small bar between the two door braces pointing more towards the front foot.

Simply remove the link between the two crossmembers and direct it more towards the foot.

on 38.1x2.5mm steel cage tube what is the max ammount the bend is allowed to crumble by?

"In selecting material attention must be paid to
obtaining good elongation properties and
adequate weldability. The tubing must be bent
by a cold working process and the centre-line
bend radius must be at least 3 times that of the
tube diameter.
If the tubing is ovalised during bending, the
ratio of minor to major diameter must be 0.9
or greater."

dont understand the last bit and thats ovalised not crushed in a wee bit on like the inner?

Ovalised as in no longer round so the tube can be distorted either way. For ease of maths, if your tube was 100mm diameter and was crushed a bit in the bending process, the minimum measurement it can be is 90mm.
See ya
