Motorway Patrol - Aug 07

Hey

Did anyone see Motorway Patrol on Tuesday night? I heard that there was a cop chasing a celica around Avondale?

Just wondering if anyone noticed what kind of celica it was, and if it looked like it had any mods?

I saw it, it was a silver one, ST20x shape, looked pretty factory to me but you couldn't really tell since it was for the most part quite far away from the patrol car, and they never did any close up shots of it after they caught up to the guy.

heh, one of my work mates was one there a few weeks back with his mrs... broken down leaking car on auckland motorway, breath tested, failed, and then it turned out that he had missed his court appearence a few days earlier... taken to station, tested again on decent gear, and passed with flying colours... maybe the cops need better testing gear at the road side?

keep in mind that in that situation he had recently had the drinks, so breath / alcohol levels will be higher wont they

Nah they're a small item they can't be always accurate because of their size. They quite often have failures, eating a breath mint or even a rolo (little chocolate caramel things) just before will often cause a misread.

yep, he had had a drink just prior to going to get his mrs, and then the whole unfortunate incident happened... oh well, his fault for skipping his court appearence, the car breaking down was Karma... my name is dave* .

I suspect that might be one of those urban myths, but by all means feel free to go out and try it.

Have seen the opposite happen....in a van carrying truck loads of race fuel...mate got pulled over & tested...failed.....asked teh officer if he could be re-test outside the vehicle due to the amount of fumes inside...did so and passed with flying colours

If I was the cop I would have done him for an unsafe load or equivilent, as you shouldn't be allowed to drive with that amount of fumes in the cabin.

I've failed one of those tests becuase I had 5 really pissed mates in the car. I hadn't had a drop all night, just did the test again in the bus and got a 0 reading.

Those little bag things aren't that good.

the cop that pulled over the wrx was a tool,

he said 'this guy just sped past me in a 80k zone, then later said 'why were you doing 85?' thought you got a bit of lenience.

was funny when the cop said 'i had a subaru and it didnt take 6 months to get fixed'

last time I checked 85 was over 80... and lenience is fine but not if you break the speed limit going passed a cop... thats just stupid.

My stepdad and mum work for the police, its not an urban myth.
