Does anyone know the engine code for the toyota hiace??? Im after the 2.4 petrol engine, and the 2.8 diesel engine info.

I have a 2.4 petrol hiace and its excellent for halling around loads. I am a carpet layer and allways have it loaded up every day . I tow my boat with it and on occasion car trailer with car. Dont go for the 2.8 diesel it is a peice of shit and when halling loads it just dies . The later model diesel turbo's are good . I also have a brand new hiace it has the 2.7 petrol engine 111kw of power and it hauls ass

BTW 1KZ-TE goes way harder than 1TR-FE even if they have similar power.

You will find that 5L feels a lot better than a 2L (for one it actually accelerates), I find 5L has better torque range than 3L even if they have very similar specs.
Also stay away from any 2L-T(E), they crack heads like a nutcracker on Christmas eve. Also I have seen a few 2L-T(E) with blown bottom ends but I think this is due to negligence more than anything.
